Hi, I am Dave Torres, the owner and operator of Elite Fly Fishing and an experienced fly-fishing guide on the San Juan River. I offer fly fishing trips to ensure you have the best experience, perfect for your needs. I love meeting people from all over the world, and I make it my mission to provide memorable fly-fishing trips for my clients. When I’m not busy guiding, I spend time researching and exploring new opportunities to help keep my teaching fresh and relevant, which means returning clients will discover something new every time they fish with me. I started guiding in the early 90s and worked for Rizuto’s and ‘Born ‘N’ Raised,’ where I became one the most requested guides, also known as ‘Super Dave.’ I am a grandmaster of fly fishing the San Juan and a pioneer of the small midge patterns that have shaped the guiding culture of the river. Dave Torres began his guiding career in the early 90’s. Working for “Rizuto’s” and “Born N’ Raised” guide services, Dave quickly gained the title of “Super Dave” as he was the most-requested guide. Dave’s passion for fly fishing is reflected through his teaching style and ability to put fish in the net. With over 3 decades of guiding experience, you are sure to have a great day on the water with him.

Jack is the owner and operator of Fishing Jack Guide Service. Born and raised in Albuquerque New Mexico, he quickly fell in love with the outdoors — specifically fly fishing. Home to one of the greatest tailwaters in the nation, Jack started FJGS in northern New Mexico with the intention of teaching others his same passion. With thousands of hours spent fishing and guiding the San Juan, you’re sure to have a fantastic day on the water with Jack.

Kyle grew up fly fishing with his dad on the Arkansas, South Platte, and high mountain lakes and creeks in Colorado. He moved to New Mexico almost two decades ago and has fished the San Juan almost every free day since. Kyle lives only minutes from the river. I have 12 years experience on the San Juan as a guide. I have personally completed over 1,100 trips on the San Juan River, (wade and float trips). Levon Gomez began his guiding career on the San Juan River. Many enjoy the versatility that he incorporates into his guiding which includes streamer fishing or dry flies for picky fish. Levon is known for fostering a welcoming environment for all experience levels — promising a day of smiles and fun.

Jacob Deifenbaugh has been a full-time guide on the San Juan for nearly a decade. Most of those years began at Abe’s Fly Shop and Fisheads before he eventually branched off independently. Jacob enjoys teaching an assortment of fishing styles that are complimentary to the fishing conditions — ensuring a fun day on the water.
